Sometimes when I’m creating a card design I play around with images that don’t get used in the final card. I have a small collection of these on my crafting desk that challenge me to find a way to use them. Such is the case with the stencilled background layer on today’s card.

I used one of the Basic Patterns Decorative Masks with Evening Evergreen Ink on Mint Macaron cardstock to make this layer. This pattern reminds me of Frank Lloyd Wright’s style.

I am really pleased with how intense I was able to get the ink by pressing the ink pad all over the mask then using a Blending Brush to really push the ink onto the cardstock.

The tree is from the Beautiful Trees dies, part of the Beauty Of The Earth Suite. I think this card is great for so many occasions and recipients. What do you think?
