This is a neat trick I found on Amanda Bates‘ blog. She showed how to make a mat for the largest rectangular die in the Painted Labels dies:
- Cut a piece of cardstock to 8.3 cm x 5.3 cm or 3 ¼” x 2 1/16″ to make a template.
- Cut the largest rectangle Painted Labels shape from another piece of cardstock. Place this on the template piece and trace the rounded corners.
- Use the ½” Circle Punch to cut corners. Mark your completed template piece with measurements for future use.
- Cut your mat cardstock, and lay the template on top. Trace the corner curves or simply hold in place and use the ½” Circle Punch to cut.
I store my template with my dies so I can find it easily.
This design, that I also CASE’d from Amanda, was so quick, easy and fun that I did a second one in another colour:
Which colour do you like better…Highland Heather or Seaside Spray?
Here’s what I used to make these cards:

I am introducing a new format for my Monthly Card Class. I will provide a kit and written instructions to make 5 cards. Participants will be able to add sentiments as desired with their own stamps and inks. Kits can be picked up from my residence using safe, social distancing protocols, or I can ship via Australia Post tracked satchel.
This past Saturday I held the Stamp With Me, Get It Free: Under My Umbrella class using this method and it worked quite well. Come give this a try – perfect if you’ve always wanted to try my classes and can’t attend in person!
