Fortunately Ikea made it easy to repurpose a long but shallow tabletop from my Arizona craft room with some new, height-adjustable legs. I was pleased, but was looking for a way to get more storage without giving up much of the tabletop space.
I had purchased one set of white DVD shelves for my stamp sets (One? What was I thinking??), and realised that I would need several more. Fortunately, I found 4 more used ones for sale online at a fraction of the cost of new ones, and snapped them up for my stamp set storage. That left me free to transform the original one into a shelf for my workcenter! I already had the plastic drawers, and used the shelves from the new, white shelving unit and a few from the used ones to support the centre.
As you can see in the photos below, there is plenty of space for my tools, and no more bending over while cutting or placing dies! Bonus: I’ve got a great place to display the handmade cards people send me.
